Learning to See is an original poem written in 2025, during the early period of my move to Paris.
The work emerged from a moment of contrast and dislocation—after living in Amsterdam, where flowers were abundant and easily part of daily life, I arrived in Paris and suddenly found myself unable to afford them in the same way. That absence became a quiet threshold.
In that space of longing, the poem turns inward, exploring what it means to reorient beauty from the external world to the self. It became an exercise in perception—learning to see that worth, like beauty, is not something purchased or possessed, but something inherent.
The poem is presented on an abstract background of red and pink leaves and florals, evoking both memory and emotional landscape, and reflecting the layered inner world from which the work emerged.
At its core, Learning to See is about returning to oneself: discovering that even when external beauty feels out of reach, there is an equal and enduring beauty within.
This is a one-of-a-kind tiny art piece, created with original collage techniques.
